Kitchen Stuff

Ok, so this is not about the wedding but I'm so excited about the stuff we have on the registry for our kitchen, I just have to share!  I was planning on doing the kitchen in red, black, white and tan but I've really been loving aqua blue for the kitchen too.  I found a way to incorporate all the colors where they will all blend nicely!  New colors for the kitchen are red, teal, yellow, black and white!  When we get a house, I really want a white kitchen so these colors are really going to pop!

These placemats go perfectly with the dishes.

The cane napkin rings are going to look great with the brown basket weave napkins.  We also have brown wicker placemates that these are going to look well with as well.

I'm going to attempt to make cute decorative towels to bring out the colors in the kitchen.  I'll make some out of the burlap from the reception or maybe even make some small wall decor.  Etsy.com is a great place to find other neat decorative hand towels.  That's where I found all these pictures for inspiration.

These glasses coordinate perfectly with the dishes.  We'll have  tea glass goblets for more formal dinners.

All these counter top accessories will bring in pops of color.  Most of it will be red and the yellow and blue will serve as accents.  All our appliances will be black and chrome.
These canvas bins are going to be great ways to store things like extra potholders.

This teal rag rug will be glamorized with red and yellow fabric flowers much like the towels above.

Garden Buckets

I searched all over to find these flowers!  Seriously.  I had planned to do garden roses, peonys and hydrangeas but I was storing these small pink mums in the buckets one day and I thought that these were perfect.  I bought the 11 bushes that the Michael's in Denton had.  I had planned to buy out the Lewisville store too, but I ran in to  a slight road block.  They had none and the sales associate told me that the flowers were being discontinued due to it being a seasonal item.  Oh no!  I was in panic mode.  I started to call around to all the stores in the metroplex to hold any that they had in the store.  I had a huge feat in front of me; I needed 96 total bushes for these buckets!  But I was up to the challenge!  I called several stores without much luck.  A nice sales associate at the Plano store looked at the invoice list for each store and told me exactly who had some in stock.  That night I went to Frisco, Plano, Addison and Dallas to buy out their merchandise!  It was a long night (took me about 3 1/2 hours round trip) but now I have these beautiful buckets to hang from the pews at the wedding!  They will also serve as the reception table center pieces!

Boutonnieres

These have proven a little more work than the hydrangea corsages, but I've gotten 4 made so far.  The trick is to get the small daisies laying just right against the rose.  I think they have turned out well.  I like how I was able to incorporate the dark pink color and the daisies with the men (they will be wearing light pink ties).  Here are a few close up shots so you can see the detail and a shot pinned to the tux.
